On 20 September 2017, NFWWD took part in a roundtable discussion on the political participation of women with disabilities under the theme ‘Making an Inclusive Pakistan’s Election Regime.’ The dialogue provided a platform for women with disabilities, policymakers, and civil society actors to explore strategies for strengthening electoral inclusion and ensuring equal participation in democratic processes. The roundtable was organized by the High Commission of Canada with STEP, the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, the Pakistan Alliance for Inclusive Elections, and the Government of Pakistan. It highlighted the importance of removing barriers and advancing policy measures to enable the active political engagement of women with disabilities
