International Women’s Day Observance: “Role of Women with Disabilities in Development”

Event Detail

On 4 March 2015, NFWWD organized International Women’s Day with a national event under the theme “Role of Women with Disabilities in Development.” The event highlighted the contributions of women with disabilities to social and economic progress, while addressing the challenges they face in accessing equal opportunities within society.

The event was organized in collaboration with Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) and Sightsavers. It brought together policymakers, civil society representatives, and women with disabilities to discuss inclusive development approaches that recognise and strengthen the role of women with disabilities. The gathering created a space for dialogue on strategies to break down systemic barriers and promote active participation of women with disabilities in all areas of public life. The event reaffirmed NFWWD’s commitment to advocating for inclusive development, gender equality, and the empowerment of women with disabilities in Pakistan.
