International Women’s Day Observance: “Equality for Women is Progress for All”

Event Detail

On 11 March 2014, NFWWD observed International Women’s Day with a national event under the theme “Equality for Women is Progress for All.” The gathering placed a special focus on the rights of women with disabilities within the federal, provincial, and Khyber Agency contexts, highlighting the intersection of gender, disability, and governance.

The observance was organised in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, SAIBAR Foundation, and UNESCO. It created a platform for dialogue among policymakers, activists, and women with disabilities, stressing the need for inclusive policies and targeted interventions that address systemic barriers.

The event reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing equality and amplifying the voices of women with disabilities in Pakistan.
