In March 2011, NFWWD convened its first national training of women with disabilites on peer counseling in murree, Pakistan. The two training brought together women with disabilties from across the country to strenghten skills in peer support, mutual learning and leadership development.
This pioneering initiative was organised in collaboration with APNIL, Capital Independent Living Center, Disabled Peoples’ International (DPI), and Pakistan Disabled Peoples Organisation (PDPO).
The training marked a historic step in building networks of solidarity and equipping women with disabilities to amplify their voices in their communities and beyond.
