Born with a polio disability, her early life was marked by physical barriers. With the help of her mother, she completed her matriculation. Her dream was to become a doctor, but she underwent an operation that forced her into a year-long bed rest. During this time, she began to reflect on her life and how society treated people with disabilities. Her perspective began to shift when she joined Milestone. It was here that she truly understood the meaning of disability, not as a limitation, but as a different way of living. At Milestone, she found a community that empowered her and taught her that while she may not be able to change her disability, she could change the world around her. Although Milestone was an accessible space, she noticed how the world outside was not.
In 2015, an opportunity came her way: a U.S. scholarship. Selected through an interview, she traveled to the U.S., where she participated in adaptive sports like basketball, wheelchair racing, and even wall climbing. Her incredible determination earned her the title of “The Wall Climber.”
Returning to Pakistan, she was determined to bring the same spirit to her homeland. She helped organize Pakistan’s first-ever disability sports event for women in Islamabad.
