From 19 to 21 January 2016, the 2nd Regional Training on “Empowerment of Women with Disabilities in South Asia” was held in Islamabad. The training brought together women with disabilities, activists, and policymakers from across the region to strengthen leadership, share experiences, and develop strategies for advancing disability rights and gender equality.
The programme was organised in collaboration with NFWWD, South Asia Disability Forum, Sightsavers, CBM, British Council, Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP), Aurat Foundation, Women’s Refugee Commission, and the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus. Participants engaged in interactive sessions on inclusive governance, advocacy, and cross-regional networking to build a stronger movement for women with disabilities.
