Laila Naseeb emerged as a strong force in disability advocacy in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. Living with a disability, she knew firsthand how underrepresented women with disabilities are, especially in remote regions like hers. She began working at a community level, where she gathered support through the Karakoram Disability Forum. As their Women’s General Secretary, she started leading initiatives focused on community participation. In 2023, she was appointed as the Provincial Coordinator (Gilgit) for NFWWD and now focuses her advocacy efforts on national forums. Her work reflects the NFWWD’s dedication to intersectional inclusion.
